Paradise in Bloom Quilt Show Tree City Quilters’ Guild will be hosting their “Paradise in Bloom” quilt show. The quilt show will be held on April 20, 2018 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and April 21, 2018 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. (Please note the quilt show hours are different for each day.) Paula Golden at Quilters’ Legacy of Lakewood Paula Golden is an internationally known quilter and teacher. Selected as “2001 Teacher of the Year” by Professional Quilter Magazine, Paula Golden relishes sharing the history, techniques and art of quilting with students of all ages. She will present the lecture Hawaiian Quilting, Explore the art, traditions and history at the May 1st meeting at 7:00 pm at Westshore Unitarian Church, 20410 Hilliard Blvd. Rocky River OH. Cost: $5.00 at the door

Paula will also present two workshops. The first is Feathered Star on May 2nd. This is followed on May 3rd with Wonderful Watercolors.  A Quilter’s Day Out hosted by Ohio Star Quilters The Ohio Star Quilters from Howland Ohio will present “A Quilter’s Day Out” Event on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. February North Coast Needlers meeting guest speaker was Dr Sara Perry, DC from Whole Body Health in Medina.  Dr. Perry discussed natural and holistic solutions to chronic pain.  It was a stimulating talk to encourage all of us to feel our best.  For more information check out Whole Body Health website http://www.wholebodyhealth.org/the-clinic/ 

We have many fine quilters and sewers in NCN but every month many of our members take part in giving back to the community by helping to quilt community quilts, produce kits and blocks for future quilts, create fidget quilts for the memory impaired, pillowcases for youngsters in hospitals,  and dog beds for pets awaiting new homes.  A big thank you to everyone for giving your time, material, expertise and love to make our world a better place!

Feb 9 — Mar 11   Lake Farmpark Quilt Show

Lake Farmpark will be having their show from 2/9-3/11. You will notice that it is running several weeks shorter than usual. You must have your entry form and fee in by 1/3/18.

The Holiday Potluck in December was filled with delicious food, fun and games ornament exchange.  We had wonderful show and tell items and storytelling fun and beautiful poinsettias.

At the January NCN meeting we will be working on making the 2018 Raffle Quilt. Members have signed up to help be cutters, sewers, and pressers.  Please bring your items for the various stations.  If anyone has a 10 1/2” square ruler please bring it as well. Sounds like a fun night of sewing with lots of friends - all hands on deck!

2017/2018 NEORQC Shop Hop -  We’re so excited about the NEORQC Shop Hop! Join quilters from all over the North East Ohio area in our new shop hop venture for 2017-18! Car pool with your friends and visit a wide variety of quilt shops. What better way is there to introduce yourself to new quilt shops, reacquaint yourself with those shops you may not have been to for awhile and say “Hello” to those shops you visit frequently. NEORQC has added a little fun!

Each time you visit a NEORQC quilt shop, ask a store clerk to initial or stamp the back of your card! Bring your completed card, with six initials/stamps, to the general meetings, put it in the hopper and we’ll dray names. Drawings will be held at October, March and June meetings. Completed cards may be turned in for a new card.

Names will stay in the hopper for one year - then we’ll dump the names and start again! You must be present to be a winner! Download and print your Shopping Card from the NEORQC website
