NCN August zoom meeting

 North Coast Needlers had a zoom meeting in July to check in with members on how we all were doing, after cancelling meetings April - May due to Covid.  Then in August we had a meeting and a member "virtual" show and tell.  It was a fun event to see folks and what they have been doing since March.  It was a delightful display of talent and fun! Below is a sample of the glory. Thank you member Ron S.for creating the powerpoint of quilts.

It appears we will be stuck in this pandemic for months to come, so the executive committee has decided to change our dues to $10 for the next 6 months ending on February 9. After that we will evaluate our meeting situation and charge further dues accordingly. We plan to have our meetings and programs on Zoom and even workshops. The workshops will have a cost for those involved as usual. Martha will be emailing membership forms which you can print out and mail with your dues to NCN Membership at PO Box 450952, Westlake, OH 44145.

April Meeting Canceled!!

North Coast Needlers meeting Tuesday, April 14th canceled due to social distancing for coronavirus.

Please take care of yourself and your families. If you are in need of anything, do not hesitate to reach out to your friends, including your quilting friends. We all need to come together and help each other, with caution.

March meeting 2020

March meeting was filled with lovely show and tells, talk of future events and a new Raffle Quilt.   Guest speaker was Cynthia England. 

NCN Raffle Quilt -members of the guild will be selling raffle tickets at upcoming quilts shows and upcoming events!  Beautiful!  

Our speaker for the meeting was Cynthia England.  She was so fun and entertaining.  She brought with her so many of her lovely quilts.  Cynthia is a fiber artist, pattern designer, and author.  She developed a technique called "Picture Piecing".  What a pleasure to have Cynthia as our guest at the meeting.  https://www.englanddesign.com/

February meeting brought fabulous show-and-tell finished projects and community service quilts, pillowcases and dog beds.

clearing out a few projects and supplies is so freeing!

We took in over 20 dog beds to the shelter last month with another pile ready for happy puppies!

Mar. 7 NEORQC Meeting Saturday, March 7 @ 10:00am Pins & Needles - 7300 Pearl Road, Middleburg Heights. 

Quilters With Heart will be our host, and Sandy Shelenberger will be our speaker. Jan Brostek, Pins & Needles owner, will also give a short talk about machine maintenance. If you can attend the meeting, there will be a potluck lunch so bring a dish to share.

Sit and Stitch:

Come join other quilters for an evening of handwork and friendship. We meet at Porter library in Westlake on the 1st and 4th Tuesday’s from 7 to 9 pm. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday at the Bay Village library from 7 to 9 pm. If there is a fifth Tuesday we eat out!! Any handwork is welcome and guild membership not required. North Coast Needlers start January with explosion of color!

Mild temperatures in Northeast Ohio this January allowed many members and guests to enjoy a brief meeting, show-and-tell projects completed by NCN members and a presentation by Karen Kay Buckley.  Thank you for sharing your talents!

After the wonderful member display of projects we delighted in a wonderful presentation titled From the Beginning: Album of a Quilter.  Karen Kay Buckley took us on a journey from her start as a quilter through many years of projects and discoveries along the way.  It was captivating and enjoyed by all.  It was a pleasure to enjoy the presence of this nationally known teacher and quilter and to see her up close and personal.  Here is a link to Karen Kay Buckley's website http://www.karenkaybuckley.com
