After show and tell and a quick break we enjoyed a zoom presentation by Patricia Belyea who lives in Washington state. Patricia and her daughter Victoria are owners of Okan Arts. Their West Coast business imports vintage textiles from Japan, runs quilting workshops and lead tours to Japan. https://okanarts.com/ . Patricia's talk centered on "Spirit Quilts". Patricia has created many unique quilts using clothing items celebrating or mourning the life of loved ones. It was a very interesting talk and opened our minds to more possibilities of creating memory quilts in the future.

April 2024 meeting
April brought an abundance of community service projects that the members completed. The quilts had designs from the simple to the sophisticated. All the quilts were created with love. We all have so many ways to help those around us and so many members that participate in creating of quilts, pillowcases and dog beds that we share with those less fortunate
in the Cleveland area.

February 2024 meeting
The
business of the meeting included discussion of having a quilt show in 2025, our
upcoming bus trip this summer, community service projects, and the Expo guild
booth coming up in April.
After the meeting it was time for show and tell. Last month our member Martha Hamilton taught a class on English paper piecing. The students from the class shared with us their hand sewn creations. We also were graced with many lovely quilt creations!
After show and tell, we enjoyed the sweetness of a Valentine dessert before the evening speaker.
Following our sweet break our speaker from the Cuyahoga County Library shared a program on the Innovation Center opportunities available at various libraries. Jesse Sanders, Manager of the Fairview Park Regional library gave the members the orientation class needed to continue on to use the Embroidery machine available at the Innovation Centers.
