August NCN meeting 2022

NCN met for our quick general meeting reviewing the happening over the last month. 

Community Service displayed their many fabulous quilts that will be donated and then members showed their newest sewing creations.

After a brief break we enjoyed a lovely presentation by Emilie Collens Illson of Button Down Designs.  Emilie displays many trays of buttons made from a variety of materials along with other items of like materials.  The audience was able to touch and examine the beautiful collectable buttons and learn the history of their making.  It was a delightful and fun evening enjoyed by all who attended.

Sept. 30 - Oct. 1, 2022 The 2022 Streetsboro Quilt Show, Friday - Saturday 

Faith Baptist Church 9890 State Route 43 (At Frost Road) Streetsboro, OH 44241

 Admission: $5 Every year the guild holds a two day quilt show on the 1st Friday and Saturday of October. Guild members volunteer in several capacities; some of which include generating advertising materials well in advance, ordering the proper hanging mechanisms, placing advertisements in local newspapers, organizing and communicating with various vendors, assembling various raffle baskets, taking in all of the quilts the Tuesday before the show, assisting the judges, hanging the quilts, making labels for the quilts, and other duties during the show, to name a few. A quilt is made for this event by members and raffled off at the event. Members will have handcrafted items for sale in the Country Cupboard which is open during the show hours. October 21 - 22, 2022 Creative Journeys - Common Thread Quilting Guild of Parma 12th Triennial Quilt Show

June 2022 NCN meeting

June is the perfect month to look at the fruits of our passions and start enjoying the weather, our family and ice cream.  After our business meeting and show and tell, the members of North Coast Needlers enjoyed ICE CREAM with homemade fudge sauce and cupcakes! Then we played a fun game with fat quarters of fabric, winner takes all.  It was a delight to laugh and share time with our fellow members.

We will be featuring an exhibition of Antique Quilts curated by Cynthia Claycamp of Quilting Memories. Many local quilt guilds will be holding quilt raffles during the show. North Coast Needlers - May 2022

 Spring is here in Northeast Ohio and after a quick business meeting the members showed off their talents with Show and Tell - always so many wonderful creations.

After the meeting and a quick snack we enjoyed a presentation by Merran Phillips owner of Color Connexion.  Color Connexion is home to 100% cotton hand dyed fabric.  We were thrilled to view all the possibilities of the rainbow of colors and fabrics created by Merran.

And we'll have a full slate of classes across a spectrum of styles and techniques. But a primary reason people come to Festival is to see quilts! North Coast Needlers had a nice turnout for our February meeting.  After a quick business meeting we enjoyed Show and Tell from our talented members followed by a wonderful presentation by Kori Turner Goodhart of Olive Grace Studios

Kori Turner Goodhart of Olive Grace Studios had a trunk show out of a wagon with so many pretty quilts and lovely hand embroidered projects

November 2021 meeting

November meeting was full of community service and show and tell quilts.  After the quick meeting and show and tell, members headed over to their sewing machines to work on a new raffle quilt.  Can't wait to see it completed!
